Hiatus Annoucement!!

Hey guys! As some of y’all might know from my bio, I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You might be familiar with the concept of missionaries: two young adults with name badges possibly riding bikes and going door to door to share the Book of Mormon.

well, our church also has service missionaries; these are people who want to dedicate time to serve the Lord but would probably not succeed as a proselytizing/teaching missionary for physical/mental health reasons. I am one of those people!

For the next 18 months, starting yesterday, actually, I will be a service missionary for my church. What that means is I will be taking different opportunities to serve in my local community in church organizations and in charitable organizations outside of my church! My main purpose in this next year and a half will be to help people and share my love and God’s love.

I may still occasionally post about religion/Christianity, some original writing, and maybe fanworks??? Probably not as many fanworks though, and I will be virtually inactive in fandoms for this stage of my life. If anyone wants to unfollow, I totally understand.

it’s been fun getting to know all of y’all, and i hope we can still be friends as i serve my mission and when I’m done. I will still also pop on here to report bots bc doggonit those guys are annoying.

if anyone has (good-spirited) questions, feel free to reach out! I will also have an email list for people who want to follow along on my mission journey, and people who are not of my faith can also be on the email!! You would need to dm me your email, but this is just for anyone who is comfortable with that.

Making this post to let y’all know I’m alive!! And doing really well, actually. It has been a while since I’ve logged on here. There are enough bots following me that I’ve given up on blocking and deleting them.

My mission is going well. Every service mission is different, and mine focuses on food, haha! I volunteer at a food bank, a food pantry (I realized as a missionary what the difference was), and a place that sells food that has decades long of a shelf life so people can create a home storage in case of disaster. Soon I’ll also help teach other service missionaries! It is a privilege and an honor to serve God by serving others.

Mosiah 2:17 “And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

Hope y’all are doing great and having fun!

p.s. i am allowed to watch some movies and shows as a missionary, so i will watch the miraculous movie and maybe tell y’all my thoughts

May the fourth moments for me: Ahsoka and Rex race to the ground in season 7 of tcw Ap-5’s almost musical number and that whole episode honestly the episode when chop and AP-5 meet the youngling arc in tcw Rescue in the beginning of rotj pod racing if any kind hello there rookies episode in tcw any soft moment between din and grogu anytime Jack black was onscreen in the mandalorian anytime Hondo shows up ever at all in any Star Wars media the clone wars movie bc anakin and Ahsoka are so cute ok I love their beginning relationship as master and padawan early Ahsoka was fire I loved her Purgill episode in rebels also the fruit episode from season one ugh so good Revenge of the 5th moments for me: the umbara arc with pong krell when gord went into a rage murder moment in a new dawn bc of the murder of his wife All of andor to come out so far rogue one as a whole honestly but mostly just when they die conspiracy arc in tcw Ahsoka accusation and leaving the jedi order Clone 99’s death hevy’s death tcw season 7 finale of course rebels season 2 finale actually it’s so beautiful but kind of hurts a little even though I know nothing heart shattering happens yet Rebels season 4 episode 10. ohohohoho iykyk king of rebels season 4 finale??? but it’s so hopeful so it’s not really angsty but it hurts in a good way. breathtaking both season finales of tbb when wrecker’s inhibitor chip worked for a little bit

thinking about how hiccup holds his hand out to toothless and then closes his eyes and trusts toothless not to eat his hand and lets toothless choose whether or not he interacts and toothless hesitates for a bit before putting his face in hiccups hand and trusts him not to hurt him. and it is a consensual optional interaction based on mutual trust and understanding. and then the first line we hear after this scene is gobber saying "and with one twist, he took my hand and swallowed it whole" and the Parallels and the Themes and the Narratives im running in circles in my room

#I think SO MUCH. I THINK SO MUCH. #so much about how this movie sets up universal rules and then breaks them in the same swing #hiccup's opening narration explaining a world characterized by division and violence in which the only way upward #is through overpowering the Other #and that hiccup's only desire is to prove his strength #and then. AND THEN. the very first chance he gets to achieve his goal and secure his standing in society and his father's approval. #he throws it away and extends mercy instead. #he breaks every rule he himself established for the universe. #and then toothless in turn breaks the very first rule we know about dragons (they always go for the kill) #and so. in extending mercy to each other. in trusting each other. #they become neither vikings nor dragons (at least not in the way we learned them. not by definition.) #they become friends. #and it literally changes everything. for everyone. #AGH somebody sedate me #httyd #they break the rules about what they should be and thus change what they are!!! what everyone has to be!!!!! aaaaaagahghghhg!!!!!!!!!
